Department of Pathology/Laboratory

The Department of Pathology staff members help ensure Soldier deployment readiness and improve the health and wellness of Family Members and Retirees by providing accurate and timely test results from their full-service clinical laboratory, transfusion service, anatomical pathology, and forensic pathology consultative services. The Pathology staff is committed to providing patients and professional medical staff with state-of-the-art laboratory medicine through exceptional customer service while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.

Preprocedure Labs

If your scheduled surgery requires preprocedural labs, these should be completed 24 hours prior to your procedure during business hours.

Laboratory Waiting Room

For the safety of patients and their children, young children under the age of 14 and infants cannot accompany their parents to their parent’s lab or blood drawing appointments. They also may not be left in the lab waiting room unattended during the parent’s appointment. Armed Services YMCA offers a Children's Waiting Room which offers two hours of care for children 6 months-12 years old for beneficiaries who have a medical appointment at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. Please call for reservations at 270-798-3077. Walk-ins are accepted with availability. Learn more about the ASYMCA Children's Waiting Room.

Radiology

The Radiology Department provides medical imaging at the main hospital, Byrd Soldier and Patient Centered Medical Home Radiology and at LaPointe Soldier Centered Medical Home Radiology. All imaging requests require a valid order from a provider prior to scheduling the exam. Requests from network providers may require faxing or emailing the valid order to BACH Radiology prior to scheduling the exam. Routine radiographs are obtained on a first-come, first-served basis.
