Walk-in Contraceptive Services
Get all your contraceptive care in one place: Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Women’s Health Clinic. Contraceptive care is also offered by your primary care manager, who can help you with your overall health care goals. To schedule an appointment with your PCM to discuss the best contraceptive option for you, call 270-798-4677 or 931-431-4677.
All beneficiaries, regardless of gender identity, are eligible for care and counseling at walk-in contraceptive clinics and can receive education on safe sexual practices, contraceptives, and STI prevention and treatment.
The clinic is open every Wednesday, 8-11:30 a.m. Patients interested in receiving same-day contraceptive care should sign in at the clinic front desk before 8:30 a.m. This service is offered on a first come, first served basis.
Services Offered
- Long acting reversible contraception (i.e., subdermal contraceptive implant and intrauterine devices)
- Short acting reversible contraception (i.e., birth control pill, patch, ring)
- Emergency contraception (Plan B, copper intrauterine device)
How it Works
Patients desiring contraceptive refills and have no questions/concerns will meet with a registered nurse. A prescription will be placed for pickup within 24 hours. Patients with questions, concerns or who desire to initiate a new method of long acting reversible contraception will attend a contraceptive class at 8:30 a.m. prior to seeing a provider.
BACH’s Pharmacy team offers additional contraceptive classes to retirees and family members age 18 and older on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m., in the hospital’s Dining Facility classroom. Contraceptive care classes for service members are offered by appointment on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m., at Byrd Soldier Medical Home. Appointments to attend either of these classes may be scheduled by calling the hospital’s appointment line at 270-798-4677 or 270-412-9109.
