Medical Surgical Ward
Ward 4AB is a 10-bed general Adult and Pediatric Medical and Surgical inpatient ward with the capabilities of eight electronic monitoring beds. 4AB has the capability to centrally monitor eight pediatric patients. The inpatient care team provides 24-hour, continuous nursing care to chronically and acutely ill patients ranging from newborns through geriatrics. The average daily census is six to eight patients and the average length of stay is two to four days.
Ward 4AB typically serves Active Duty Soldiers/Retirees, Family members of Active Duty Soldiers/Retirees and Civilians as eligible. As a multi-mission ward, the scope and complexity of diagnoses range throughout a diverse scope of medical and surgical areas. The inpatient care teams typically consist of Physicians, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Pharmacist, Discharge Planners, Medical Assistants and Nursing staff.
