Inpatient Services

New mothers will find a recently renovated labor and delivery unit with large rooms that offer laboring and delivery in the same room. C-section operating rooms are located a few steps away from the laboring rooms.

Once moms have delivered, they can transition to the mother baby unit (MBU), also recently renovated. Focusing on family centric care, the rooms are large enough to comfortably allow for visitors and a pull chair allows for an overnight guest. The MBU also supports a five-bed, level one special care nursery.

For patients requiring medical or surgical care, unit 4AB serves as the hospital’s general medical-surgical ward. The team is well versed in caring for patients across the age continuum, from infants to centenarians and do so in one of 10 beds manned by professional military and civilian staff.

If a patient requires more serious care, the intensive care unit (ICU) is staffed by a team of professional nurses focused on providing care for higher acuity patients. Through collaboration with a team of medical and surgical providers, the ICU is capable of caring for most of the patients that present to Blanchfield’s emergency center.

For individuals experiencing behavioral health episodes, BACH offers an eight to 12-bed Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This enables patients to remain close to command and family, an essential part of the healing process.
