Women's Health Clinic, Obstetrics & Gynecology
The Women's Health Clinic, OB-GYN Clinic, provides patient education for expectant mothers as well as patient education for spouses and pregnant female children of active duty Soldiers with certain gynecological issues.
If you have received a positive pregnancy test at home or from your provider and you are a TRICARE eligible beneficiary, you can schedule an appointment within the Women's Health Clinic at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. To schedule an appointment, go to the Third Floor of the "A" Building of the hospital, the entrance off Air Assault Street. The receptionist at the front desk can assist you with scheduling your prenatal appointments.
Expectant mothers are provided a Goal Oriented Guide to Prenatal Care, commonly called a "Purple Book". The purple book is a "mothering" guide during their pregnancy, spanning from nutrition to immunizations and to what they can expect to discuss during each visit. An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant is available for education during and after your pregnancy. Please call 270-798-8151 to speak to the Lactation Consultant within the OB-GYN Clinic.
OB - Women who are pregnant and experience medical assistance after hours and are less than 20 weeks pregnant, please report to the Emergency Center for evaluation. Women are more than 20 weeks pregnant please report to the Labor and Delivery Unit.
Women may select to participate in the Centering Pregnancy Program once they begin receiving obstetric care at Blanchfield. Please watch the video below to learn more about the Centering Pregnancy Program.
Gynecological care offers face-to-face counseling, women's health screenings and care with a GYN physician. Gynecology appointments include follow-up pap-smears, LEEP procedures, colposcopies, pre and post-surgery, or active duty profile concerns.
